I’m Fernando Ponce, an independent Latino documentary filmmaker passionate about storytelling that amplifies underrepresented voices and sheds light on untold narratives. Growing up in Worcester, Massachusetts, a city rich with diverse cultures and vibrant communities, I was inspired early on by the power of shared experiences and the importance of preserving authentic stories.

My journey in filmmaking began as a teenager, capturing everyday moments and my travel adventures with a gopro camera. These early explorations grew into a commitment to telling stories that challenge perceptions and spark meaningful conversations. My work often focuses on themes of identity, resilience, and the intersections of culture and history, informed by my own background and the community that shaped me.

Three years ago, I moved to Los Angeles to immerse myself in the epicenter of film and media. Since then, I’ve collaborated with talented creators, honed my craft, and continued to develop projects that reflect my roots while exploring new horizons. My films have been featured at South Central Film Festival, Anthem Awards, Loma Film Festival, Oceanside International Film Festival, and I’m committed to creating work that bridges cultures and inspires understanding.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me exploring LA’s vibrant arts scene, connecting with fellow storytellers, or dreaming up my next project over a cup of cafecito.

Let’s tell stories that matter. Reach out—I’d love to collaborate.

"Fernando has a deep appreciation for preserving nostalgia. His upbringing in a Salvadoran family and seeing his mother’s commitment to ensuring their success at reaching the American dream was the unconscious fuel that fed his curiosity of preserving imagery and storytelling."
